Essentially, it’s a service that allows the customer to arrange for a third party to send a parcel to them. For example: from a buyer to a warehouse, from a customer to a service centre, or from a partner to an office. The customer creates the shipment in advance, specifying the destination address and delivery instructions. The person on the other end receives a label or instructions. They do not need to deal with rates, addresses and paperwork themselves.
They simply hand the parcel over to a UPS courier. The customer, meanwhile, controls the route, cost, tracking and receipt. Therefore, Return Services is not just a return, but managed inbound delivery.

UPS 1 Attempt Returns: Single Courier Pickup
Is a service that involves a single visit by a UPS courier to collect a return parcel. Once the return has been arranged, a UPS courier will visit the specified address and attempt to collect the parcel. If the parcel cannot be handed over to the courier at the time of the visit, no automatic repeat collection will be arranged. In this case, the courier leaves a return label, and the customer can choose how to proceed with the return themselves: the parcel can either be taken to the nearest UPS service centre, or the customer can contact UPS to arrange a separate collection. Thus, the service involves a single collection attempt, and the customer organises any further return arrangements themselves if necessary.

The waybill is generated internally by UPS, and no action is required from the customer. One collection attempt will be made — please be available for the scheduled pickup.
